I've found three, none ideal. Wish I had a C programmer handy.
One is simtel:<msdos.pgmutl>rcs55.zip, ported by stu AT tandem DOT com
- compiled with BC++
- Cannot handle Novell
- Cannot handle 8+3 filenames (!) [just 8+2 or less]
- requires that you set an environment variable, LOGNAME, for your userid
Then there's myrcs.zoo on spdcc.com [you'll have to poke around a bit]
- compiled with MSC, .exes are a little larger
- requires that you set an environment variable, TZ, for your time zone
strips ^Ms when archiving, but puts them back during check-out
- executables only--no source, little documentation
Both of those are version 5.5, and both of them
- run under regular DOS, no go32 needed
- require RAW console mode off
- mishandle binary files
- give an incorrect error message if you hit ^break during description
Also, there's ftp.cs.purdue.edu::/pub/hammer/msrcs-1.8-beta.tar.Z
- Official version 5.6 for dos
- source only
- Expected to work, but has never actually been compiled
- "You will also need rcs-5.6.4-beta.tar.Z in that directory."
- Raw text -
