I compiled dhrystone V2 (dh1.c and dh2.c) using -O, -O2, and no 
optimization. There was no difference at all between -O and -O2. Is this
to be expected? Both executables provided a rating of about 12,100 on a
386/33 mhz machine. Without optimization, the performance dropped to around
8300. Thanks.
