How long did you spend on this project I wonder? I've got a suggestion
to break your 28 sec compile time (no it's not buy a faster machine).
Why don't you ditch smartdrv and replace it with a better disk cache?
If you have ftp access get a copy of hyperdisk, then rerun your tests
and see what happens.

Not ment to be a flame, I just hate to see someone trying so hard to
increase their performance using MSDOG dumbdrv.
