I use MSDOS 5.0's smartdrv.sys set to 2048k (2 meg). There is an incredible increase in speed, as that seems to be large enough to hold the compiler and most of the standard .h's I include. BTW, I have a 386dx-20, 64k cache with 8 Mb RAM, twin 28 millisecond drives and without the disk caching, I'd probably die of frustration. Pete
