I tried to apply the recent valloc patch posted here a few days ago.
I did not work for me. (second hunk failed). 

A general questions about patches: Do the files patch4.zip and patch5.zip
have to be applied to the current 1.05 distribution available in same 
directory? To patches posted here rely on other patches being applied first?
