I'm still waiting for newlib approval for my recent changes (probably
today), but I think they solve my part of the \r problems, at least
for new programs.  Existing programs will use the old \r conversion
method, and will still have the ftell() bug.  New programs (or
recompiled programs) will use the new method, and won't have the
ftell() bug.  I hope.

They won't help with the binary mounts though :-)
