I was just thinking that it might be nice to have a generic way of
specifying the place where the /windows directory lives.  This is
information that you retrieve from GetWindowsDirectory ().

This would be useful, for instance for an installer that wants to
put things in /windows.

Does /cygdrive/windows make sense or does the "drive" part of /cygdrive
belie the "windows".

There is also a similar requirement for something like /cygdrive/system
which would be the /windows/system directory (or whatever).

Windows doesn't have any way of accessing these devices other than through
an API, does it?
