I don't know if anyone has seen this but there is a 'mount -x'
option in recent snapshots.  This option tells cygwin to assume
that everything in the referenced directory is executable.  This
should speed up cygwin's testing of non .exe files since it then
doesn't have to open them to look for a #! to see if the file is
executable.
