Subject: Another MAKE_MODE idea
Message-ID: <19990811161957.A1456@cygnus.com>

I've gotten some resistance to the idea of just changing the default
MAKE_MODE to unix so I have come up with an alternate plan.

Here's what I'm proposing:

Make will default to UNIX mode if 1) /bin/sh.exe exists, or 2) the SHELL
environment variable exists and does not point to command.com or
cmd.exe.

How does this sound to everyone?
