You might want to consider putting it back in.  I get different results running
under the strace program.  I was thinking that with the CYGWIN variable it
might just give the strace with the errors.  What do you think?  Any ideas on
what else I might do quickly to help out with debugging this?  I don't have
time to use gdb but if it's a Q&D I could execute it.  I'm planning on building
the bash-2.03 from the fsf site with the new libraries to see if it helps, do
you think that it might?
