Subject: | More Problems remaking setup.exe after cvs update |
From: | Brian Keener <bkeener AT thesoftwaresource DOT com> |
Reply-To: | bkeener AT thesoftwaresource DOT com |
This is not just a recent problem, I have been having this problem since I started coding changes for setup. I seems each time I do a cvs update to update my copy of winsup (including cinstall) when I go to do a make after the update my make will fail. I ultimately end up removing the whole build tree and remaking the whole build tree. Not to be confused with my other recent issue with libstdc++.a when I say fail in this case what I actually mean is the executable is unusable. The make will actually complete as you would think it would, but the first thing you notice is that where the normal size is around 1460kb-1480kb the new size will be considerably less. And when you try to run it - it will essentially hang at some point in the execution (actually stops at a particular dialog and goes no further and you have to cancel). If I then try to do a make clean and then redo the make I get even worse results. All of these steps are done from within /usr/build/i585-pc-cygwin/winsup/cinstall which is my build treee. Last evening as a different attempt for my first build after an update I did a make at /usr/build to see what would happen and the same result. What looks like a good executable is not. I'm looking for suggestions or some possible thought process to follow to resolve this issue. It is particularly frustrating to try to contribute and then each time you update you have to reconfigure and remake. I have enclosed a cygcheck in case that helps: Cygnus Win95/NT Configuration Diagnostics Current System Time: Tue Mar 13 08:29:55 2001 Win95 Ver 4.0 build 67306684 B Path: /usr/local/SuperIde
