I've made a new binary snapshot of the tools built with
C(XX)FLAGS="-O2 -march=i586 -mcpu=i686 -fno-strength-reduce"
available in the usual place. A configure of comp-tools with these
binaries took 17m30s.
If you install them in /cygnus/b19 such that there is a
/cygnus/b19/H-i386-cygwin32 directory, you should not need to set any
environment variables other than MAKE_MODE=unix and putting the bindir
in your PATH.
You should also find calls-980221.texinfo.bz2 which is the beginnings
of API documentation for Cygwin32. It will be in b19's winsup dir
as doc/calls.texinfo. More rearranging and hopefully a little more
completeness will happen before the actual release.
It looks like the only two calls unimplemented by Cygwin32 that are in
POSIX or ANSI C are mkfifo and setuid (not that there aren't plenty of
bugs to fix in other calls). Still, pretty cool!
