Oh, I see.  That's orthogonal to the installation prefix question. 
However, the downside to your idea is that you have to update the
package whenever either 2.13 or 2.5x is updated.  Ditto
automake-1.4p2/1.5.

Sounds like even *more* work for Corinna, to me.
