Charles> Well, I'm afraid I can't help you. It turns out that this is a "fix".
    Charles> Here's what happened:

In case anybody has build the following packages with libpng-1.0.8, I found that the new
version breaks also the following executables (because of missing png_init_io entry point):

 o plotutils-2.4.1 - http://www.gnu.org/software/plotutils/plotutils.html
                     ftp://prep.ai.mit.edu/pub/gnu/plotutils/

graph.exe:
pic2plot.exe:
plot.exe:
plotfont.exe:
tek2plot.exe:

o pstoedit-3.21 - http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Network/1958/pstoedit/

pstoedit.exe:

o libwmf-0.1.21b - http://www.wvware.com/

wmftopng.exe:

 o ghostscript-6.50 - http://www.ghostscript.com/

gs.exe:

 o xpaint-2.6.1 - http://home.worldonline.dk/~torsten/xpaint/

xpaint.exe:

 o teTeX-1.0.7 - http://www.tug.org/teTeX/

pdfeinitex.exe:
pdfetex.exe:
pdfevirtex.exe:
pdfinitex.exe:
pdftex.exe:
pdfvirtex.exe:

 o netpbm-9.9 - http://download.sourceforge.net/netpbm/

pngtopnm.exe:
pnmtopng.exe:

But recompilation fiexes everything.

  Ciao
     Volker
