Problem solved. Apparently another piece of software on my machine installed an older version of Cygwin deep in the other program's install directory. I assume Setup.exe was finding and trying to use an old version of cygwin1.dll. Once I found and uninstalled the old version, setup worked like a charm. Does Setup.exe bootstrap off cygwin1.dll? If so, could it check the version? -----Original Message----- From: cygwin-apps-owner AT cygwin DOT com [mailto:cygwin-apps-owner AT cygwin DOT com]On Behalf Of Brendan Kelly Sent: Sunday, June 02, 2002 9:04 PM To: 'Robert Collins'; cygwin-apps AT cygwin DOT com Subject: RE: Setup.exe 2.218.2.9 crashes with stack fault on Win98SE I probably should have mentioned in the first post... I fail the same with all of the snapshot versions posted. -----Original Message----- From: Robert Collins [mailto:robert DOT collins AT itdomain DOT com DOT au] Sent: Sunday, June 02, 2002 7:21 PM To: bkelly AT toast DOT net; cygwin-apps AT cygwin DOT com Subject: RE: Setup.exe 2.218.2.9 crashes with stack fault on Win98SE Please try the most recent snapshot from http://www.cygwin.com/setup-snapshots.
