The 'zip' package has been updated to 2.3-2. Zip is an open-source,
command-line alternative to other zip-format archives such as WinZip,
etc. zip-2.3 is the latest release from Info-Zip,
http://www.info-zip.org/pub/infozip/Zip.html.
CHANGES from 2.3-1:
o Update to new script-based packaging scheme.

INSTALLATION:
To update your installation, click on the "Install Cygwin now" link
on the http://cygwin.com/ web page. This downloads setup.exe to your
system. Then, run setup and update the zip package.
Note that we have recently stopped downloads from sources.redhat.com
(aka cygwin.com) due to bandwidth limitations. This means that you
will need to find a mirror which has this update.
In the US,
ftp://mirrors.rcn.net/mirrors/sources.redhat.com/cygwin/
is a reliable high bandwidth connection.
In the UK,
http://programming.ccp14.ac.uk/ftp-mirror/programming/cygwin/pub/cygwin/
is usually up-to-date within 48 hours.
If one of the above doesn't have the latest version of this package
then you can either wait for the site to be updated or find another
mirror.

NOTES:
o The dospath patch allows zip to handle these dospaths:
zip foo.zip C:/sys/*
zip foo.zip C:\\AUTOEXEC.BAT C:\\AUTOEXEC.W40
However, this doesn't work:
zip foo.zip C:\\sys\\*
zip warning: name not matched: C:/sys/*
However, ls.exe fails in the same manner: forward slash
dospaths work with wildcards, but wildcards don't work
if you use backslashes. (Of course, you can specify a
file explicitly -- without any wildcards -- using either
forward or back slashes, and that will work). Since this
problem is shared by other cygwin apps, I think it is either
a bash bug or a cygwin misfeature.
o This package was NOT built using the encryption code
available at http://www.info-zip.org/pub/infozip/. (Blame US
cryptography export code; at present, while decryption binaries and
encryption source code controls have been relaxed, export of encryption
binaries requires explicit notification of the US govt. This has to
be done by official Red Hat people, not me.) So, this package does
NOT contain encryption support. If you want to build it yourself,
it ought to work: just download the zcrypt29.zip package referenced
above, and overwrite the dummy files crypt.c and crypt.h with the
ones in that package.
o this build is -mno-win32 clean; that is, it builds from source
identically, regardless of whether gcc sets the _WIN32 or WINNT
defines.
