Hi there,

Those are DNS lookup, with interfaces defined in <arpa/nameser{,_compat}.h>, and 
not part of the resolver library, with interfaces defined in <resolv.h>, all 
packaged in cygwin-devel, as parts of cygwin have to be able to find AD servers 
and do other lookups, as well as support getent.
