I don't know if it is a bug or just a curiosity.

it seems there are two equal entry for ja_JP
and it is the only one with repetition

$ locale -a |grep -i "ja"
ja_JP
ja_JP
ja_JP.utf8
ja_JP.ujis

japanese
japanese.euc
japanese.sjis
