Subject: [ANNOUNCEMENT] botan1.10 1.10.12-1
X-IsSubscribed: yes

The following packages have been uploaded to the Cygwin distribution:

* libbotan1.10_1-1.10.12-1
* libbotan1.10-devel-1.10.12-1
* libbotan1.10-doc-1.10.12-1
* python-botan-1.10.12-1
* mingw64-i686-botan1.10-1.10.12-1
* mingw64-x86_64-botan1.10-1.10.12-1

Botan is a crypto library for C++ released under the permissive 2-clause
BSD license. It provides most any cryptographic algorithm you might be
looking for, along with Transport Layer Security (TLS), X.509 certs,
CRLs, and path validation, a pipeline-style message processing system,
bcrypt password hashing, and other useful things.

This is an update to the latest upstream release, which includes a fix
for CVE-2016-2194, CVE-2016-2195, and CVE-2016-2196:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1305439

NOTE: this fix resulted in an ABI break. Any software which users have
built themselves with libbotan will need to be rebuilt. The now-obsolete
libbotan1.10_0 package may then be removed.
