Nope. I said “chmod 666 /var/log/setup.log”, and setup.exe still isn’t writing anything new to it. (That resulted in 606 permissions, for some reason. I have no idea why I effectively have an 0070 umask on this system, even though “umask” from the normal Cygwin terminal says 0022.)
