Thanks very much for reporting this problem Unfortunately, 32-bit XP is one of the platforms I test on, but I can't reproduce this problem. There are two things you can perhaps do to generate additional information which will help me try to fix the problem: 1. Install the experimental xorg-server-cygwin-crashreporter package and report the crash when it occurs. 2. Follow the instructions for "Generating a backtrace when the X server is crashing at startup" at [1].
