Belatedly "Thank You!" for tracking this down.  The fix is in gdb-7.8-2
released by Yaakov as you all know by now, I guess.  The original patch
when I took over the package consisted in most parts of renaming a variable.
This made the patch somewhat big so I thought it's a good idea to drop
the renaming parts from the patch... and missed two important snippets in
the code which did more than just renaming.  Duh.

So again, thanks Ken for tracking this down and thanks Yaakov for
building the fixed GDB package.
