Subject: [ANNOUNCEMENT] Updated: automake1.10-1.10.3-2
To: cygwin AT cygwin DOT com
Message-Id: <announce.20130802143131.C5C0E68019B@frontend2.nyi.mail.srv.osa>

Automake is a tool for automatically generating `Makefile.in' files
compliant with the GNU Coding Standards. This is routine packaging
update for automake-1.10, and contains the latest version of the
automake 1.10 series, automake-1.10.3.

This cygwin package, automake1.10, can be installed without conflict
alongside the existing automake1.14 ... automake1.11, automake1.9 ...
automake1.4 cygwin packages.

CHANGES SINCE 1.10.3-1
======================================================================
* Rely on cygport to autogenerate setup.hints
* Update config.sub/config.guess to latest standard (supports
  cygwin64)
* Use 'alternatives' only for documentation; rely on wrapper
  to handle the tools themselves.
* First cygwin64 release

Testsuite results:
=====================================
cyg32| 6 of 621 tests failed
cyg32| (12 tests were not run)
cyg64| 5 of 621 tests failed
cyg64| (12 tests were not run)
=======================================================
There are no regressions (four of these are bogus, and
the the remaining two are pre-existing failures).

Testsuite Details:
=====================================
both| FAIL: check8.test
both| FAIL: check9.test
            These are actually bugs in the test suite. They do not
            properly account for '.exe' on (some) executable names.
            This is fixed in the 1.11 testsuite, so I'm ignoring it
            here.

both| FAIL: compile_f90_c_cxx.test
both| FAIL: compile_f_c_cxx.test
both| FAIL: flibs.test
            Looks like a bug in the test. It expects a copy of
            config.guess/config.sub in the testing directory, but
            never copies it there nor runs automake with --add-missing.

cyg32|FAIL: lzma.test
            Seems to be a bug in our version of lzma (from xz-5.02). It
            reports "lzma: (stdin): Cannot allocate memory" whenever an
            attempt is made to compress a stdio stream. (64bit lzma.exe
            is newer).

I'm really not too concerned about these failures, since they all appear
to be (a) bugs in the testsuite, or (b) bugs in other programs.
