Corinna and I have been discussing this in private and I thought someone (you?) was going to bring this up in the cygwin-developers list. However, since you mention it here, my opinion is that we should add hooks in the DLL which allow certain operations like path translation, symlinks, and command line substitution to be short-circuited or modified. In that scenario, you'd still have a MSYS.dll but it would rely on cygwin1.dll for most of the heavy lifting. cgf -- Problem reports: http://cygwin.com/problems.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/ Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple
