Oh, yes. Of course. Thanks. Installing the *mingw* zlib allows the build to
progress --- it then fails with the "bad register name" error, but I'll look
into refreshing my compiler packages.

I thought the snapshots were cross-compiled: I thought that the build might=

been broken only on Cygwin builds.
