Thanks. It'd been a while since I've compiled the program. Our old headers =
must
have had a bug that led to defining that flag even for OS versions that did=
n't
actually support symbolic links. Changing _WIN32_WINNT to 0x600 (Vista) mad=
e the
program compile again.

That's a problem with the cygwin64 distribution. It's common for "cc" to ru=
n the
normal C compiler.
