If this is working but just taking more time than you expect, it could be
something like a networking issue.  But if you're looking for some insight
as to how you might track down where the time is going, you might try
stracing the process.  This should help you localize where in Cygwin you
spend the most time.  Then at least you know where in the source to start
looking. :-)
