I have recently installed cgywin on my windows 7 32-bit machine.

when i run the cgywin terminal i am able to show the version with the
command gcc --version however when i try and do this in command prompt
nothing is displayed. i have set the path correctly so i don't know why
only gcc is not working as all the others in the cygwin\bin folder do.

here is an attached screenshot of the problem if it is unclear.

any help would be much appreciated.
