As with most problems, properly defining the problem clearly is usually
the first step to finding the solution. From what I read you were using
mintty (it's amazing how many people run things yet don't have a clue
what program they are actually running!) not xterm so looking up xterm
would not have helped you anyway. IOW instead of man xterm you should
have done man mintty or you could have googled "mintty blue", which, as
it turns out, would have sent you here:
https://www.google.com/#hl=en&sclient=psy-ab&q=mintty+blue&oq=mintty+blue&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&gs_nf=1&gs_l=hp.3...179340.182777.1.182856.20.16.0.0.0.2.140.1294.7j6.15.0.H3o5QR2XF8w&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.r_qf.,cf.osb&fp=f418c571f2743226
<https://www.google.com/#hl=en&sclient=psy-ab&q=mintty+blue&oq=mintty+blue&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&gs_nf=1&gs_l=hp.3...179340.182777.1.182856.20.16.0.0.0.2.140.1294.7j6.15.0.H3o5QR2XF8w&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.r_qf.,cf.osb&fp=f418c571f2743226>
and the first click would have directly addressed the issue you were having.

And no, lmgtfy was not used in a cynical sense at all - it was used in a
mocking sense! ;-)
