See http://cygwin.com/faq-nochunks.html#faq.using.fixing-fork-failures In the future this shouldn't be necessary so often because of the new _autorebase package that was announced yesterday. At the moment, though, this probably won't help you, because that package does its work through a postinstall script that runs after the ones that are failing.
