With freetype 2.4.9-1 I'm seeing lot's of

GPL Ghostscript 9.04: Error: Font Renderer Plugin ( FreeType ) return
code = -1

from ps2pdf14.

Web searches on this seem to reveal it is a freetype 2.4.9 problem and
at least one suggest fix is to go to freetype 2.4.9-rc1
Going to an older release of freetype fixes it too, but I don't
see a choice for going to an older release when I use setup to check it
out.

Hopefully I'm not reporting something that's already been reported, but
after some searching I didn't find any other posts on this. A bit
surprising, since the problem seems pretty solid on all my cygwin
machines.
