I apologise. Whilst in the past strace has wrong-footed me, and somewhat this time (with different behaviour), as it turns out, I should not have disparaged it. > I'll start setting up for dll debugging now. The problem was all my own doing. I had a cygwin1.dll, and other dlls in my home directory. I noticed this because when I cd'ed out of my home directory, the sftp-server command would work. Of course, once I'd moved the dlls out of the way, sftp-server came good. And of course, my sftp issues have also cleared up. I apologise for the noise. Thanks to Larry for humouring me, and to the Cygwin community in general. -- Shaddy -- Problem reports: http://cygwin.com/problems.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/ Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple
