You probably didn't follow Jeremy Bopp's advice exactly; looks like you forgot the space after "cd". It's cd /cygdrive/q cd/cygwin/q (without a space after "cd") means running the file named "q" in the subdirectory "cd/cygwin" of the current directory. That's why you got "no such file or directory". In Unix shells, you MUST separate the command name and its arguments with spaces. This is different from DOS, where DIR/S will treat the "/S" as an option to "DIR".
