This problem is probably due to using incompatible versions of the cygwin D= LL. Search for cygwin1.dll using the Windows Start->Find/Search facility and delete all but the most recent version. The most recent version *shoul= d* reside in x:\cygwin\bin, where 'x' is the drive on which you have installed the cygwin distribution. Rebooting is also suggested if you are unable to find another cygwin DLL. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Of course is it possible that what I see on WinXP , broken communication between octave and gnuplot, is different from what was sawn on Vista32 and W7/64 (Exception: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION) > > Even if that "fixes" the problem, there is still something wrong with > the way DLLs get relocated which is leading to this symptom. =A0It may be > a Cygwin problem or it may be a binutils problem. =A0I'm still > investigating. as octave has a very large number of dll dependency and it execute also gnuplot, it has a high chance to catch problems in this area. > > cgf Thanks for checking Marco -- Problem reports: http://cygwin.com/problems.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/ Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple
