Most likely, you recently ran setup.exe and upgraded tar. Upstream tar includes a patch to make it more picky about stat() structures changing behind the scenes, that older tar was ignoring. Which in turn is exposing (yet another) buggy file system that cygwin needs to be taught how to work around. > My Q: device maps to a Samba share on QNX through Virtual PC. So samba changes directory sizes when a process reads that directories contents; maybe the easiest workaround would be to teach cygwin stat() to always display samba directory sizes as 0 during stat. --=20 Eric Blake eblake AT redhat DOT com +1-801-349-2682 Libvirt virtualization library http://libvirt.org --------------enig00D9BACE7E0CEE36332FA16A Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: OpenPGP digital signature Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.11 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Public key at http://people.redhat.com/eblake/eblake.gpg Comment: Using GnuPG with Fedora - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iQEcBAEBCAAGBQJNJ4L2AAoJEKeha0olJ0NqnjoH/REHs4tgWXZJgZyFoYbgfHjJ k5bBuc8UsNUStVOINn2xWLmZtpF5rWP0qcfd1YUrmJrkFovGR57Z5kCtxkjR6Nga uY6mEgrx98Blm05gUKYfig/6ICYJBTxTf6poBH/QLGsTa7RGbPCcGBXrl7+C0O1O smZlfsOKUJjRN9ocIEqeI/4m33vc73CLjBeB9tbnyxsBJVLe6CLb/QpCE4gY4CpS 8yWQrOBsWL9ivR5du+7n8nSaczCzQbUibn98a+cNriFLiCIwIb1WUwQZ2IuGjPeM C09zWPlx/GFCKawjC+Xvipj+1mrcFSR/HVw/k2U1g2SBCacGQW64klDZ1L1ZVng= =TB4h -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --------------enig00D9BACE7E0CEE36332FA16A--
