Ah yes, that would do it.

Depends. Non-interactive programs should be fine. Interactive console
programs often stumble over the fact that Cygwin ptys and Windows
consoles are different beasts. Windows GUI programs such as mintty are
completely out of luck though, because the ssh server isn't connected
to your desktop session. (Xterm of course connects to your X server
rather than using Windows stuff directly).
