For example,

$ echo $PATH

should show something like this:

/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/cygdrive/c/WINDOWS/system32:[...]

i.e., Cygwin directories should be searched before Windows ones.

Obviously, you should verify if 'g77' Cygwin package is installed.
