I updated to 1.7.2 and the cygwin.bat I modified ages ago to run rxvt does not work anymore.  The window pops up and quickly disappears (I'm using Windows XP).

cygwin.bat looks like:
@echo off
C:
chdir C:\cygwin\bin
rxvt -e bash --login -i

I don't see any info in /var/log.  Maybe there is a way to see an error that I might have missed when the window disappears quickly.

Running rxvt from cmd.exe works fine.

This worked fine for many years.  Is this a regression in 1.7.2, or some post-1.7.2 step I need to do for 1.7.2, or something I've always had wrong and it just worked until now?

Rolling back to 1.7.1 restores the old behavior.
