I try add

   $(error $(cygpath d:/tmp))

and

temp:
	echo $(cygpath d:/tmp)

But it seems $(cygpath ) not expanded to Cygwin path.

My solution use

   $(subst \,/,$(COMSPEC))

or

   $(shell cygpath -u d:/tmp)
