If so, it would be really weird.  I have a physical cygdrive as well and
I can't reproduce his observation, except I use a DOS path or a cygdrive
path, like, say

  getfacl C:/cygwin/cygdrive
  getfacl /cygdrive/c/cygwin/cygdrive
