Hi Paul.  Actually, there are others on this list that could answer this
question for you as well.  Technically, a quick look at the code
provides the answer. :-)

That would have been my guess as well, given the nature of SIGEMT.
But looking at the Cygwin DLL code, this signal is defined but not
currently emitted.
