Thank you Andy, you are right.

I tried the following, they all shown something instead of
empty/white-spaces
1. added 'chcp 850' in cygwin.bat file (before bash log,=20
2. put gwin window into full-screen mode(Alt+Enter)
3. changed the font of Cygwin window to 'New SimSun'
