There have a few threads on this subject over the years:

http://cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/2007-01/msg00651.html
http://sourceware.org/ml/cygwin/2007-11/msg00473.html
http://www.cmake.org/pipermail/cmake/2007-January/012450.html

The gist is that cl works from Windows, but dies with:

Fatal Error C1902: Program database manager mismatch; please check your=
 installation.

when invoked from a ssh session using a different account than the account =
sshd is running under.

With cygwin-1.7 on Server 2008, sshd seems to work better than in the past=
(tasklist no longer hangs), but I still get this error when using VC9. H=
as anyone else either run into this, or gotten it working with 1.7?

thanks,
jim
