| What version of 'setup.exe' are you running?  Perhaps it's a bad
| 'bash.lst.gz' file in '/etc/setup'?  If so, you could try moving
| it out of the way and trying again.

I'm running 2.573.2.3, fresh off the net.
I see that /etc/setup/bash.1st.gz is dated Mar 9, 2009.
Can i delete any of these and restart?

I am reading the "file in use" thread too and contemplating going this route.
Doesn't look easy tho.    I would probably rm -rf cygwin and look for
the proc's in process explorer until i got all the files.
