You can always check if your message made it to the list with this link: <http://cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/> I'm not exactly how you're managing to run the 'ls' you refer to above on Windows but the message you're getting indicates that you're not running Cygwin's 'ls' (and implies you're trying to execute the Linux binary). This list can't help you with problems that don't relate to Cygwin. Well, I guess it's fair to say that say that you can't run Linux binaries on Windows. ;-) See <http://www.cygwin.com/> for a concise list of what Cygwin is and isn't. If you feel I've provided a completely improper diagnosis of your situation or otherwise believe that there's a Cygwin issue at the heart of your problems, please read and follow the problem reporting guidelines found here in your reply: <http://cygwin.com/problems.html> This will give us some basis for the analysis of the issue. A more descriptive subject would also be useful. -- Larry Hall http://www.rfk.com RFK Partners, Inc. (508) 893-9779 - RFK Office 216 Dalton Rd.
