Someone, please flog Charles.  It's clear this is what he needs.  Don't be
fooled into thinking that Charles deserves your respect and admiration for
all the work he's done over the years.  That would be misguided.  If we
encourage efforts like his, it will just end up encouraging others to
follow his example.  And none of us want that.
