There are two paramount issues that you must confront: 1. You must take special steps to initialize the Cygwin DLL if it's not loaded by a Cygwin-built executable (which is the case if you're going the strict .NET route). See the following FAQ link for more info. <http://cygwin.com/faq/faq-nochunks.html#faq.programming.msvs-mingw> There have also been some discussions on the list about loading cygwin1.dll from a non-cygwin program but I can't find them right now. If you're looking for additional info, you should be able to poke around in the archives and pull up some other details. 2. Your program will be GPLed. If these issues don't bother you, then you should be fine to forge ahead!
