bash.exe.stackdump is useless without debugging symbols, but my guess is
that some other program on your system is interfering with the normal use
of bash. Do you have any of these suspect programs running?

Sonic Solutions burning software containing DLA component
Norton/MacAffee/Symantec antivirus or antispyware
Logitech webcam software with "Logitech process monitor" service
Kerio, Agnitum or ZoneAlarm Personal Firewall
Iolo System Mechanic/AntiVirus/Firewall
LanDesk
Windows Defender
Embassy Trust Suite fingerprint reader software wxvault.dll

Also, please attach 'cygcheck -svr' output.

The fact that every one of your postinstall scripts failed like so:

> 2007/05/10 23:44:55 running: C:\cygwin\bin\bash.exe -c
/etc/postinstall/00ash.sh
>       6 [unknown (0x1E50)] bash 7636 _cygtls::handle_exceptions:
Exception: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION
>  860465 [unknown (0x1E50)] bash 7636 open_stackdumpfile: Dumping stack
trace to bash.exe.stackdump

makes me suspect that there may be some permissions problems involved?
