Hi there,

Is there a way to have a link (pointing to a directory) resolved to the
target directory when changing directory to that link ?

Here is what I am trying to achieve:

$ ln /cygdrive/c/downloads
$ cd downloads
$ pwd
/cygdrive/c/home/teggy/downloads
$

When running the last 'pwd' command, rather than having
/cygdrive/c/home/teggy/downloads (which the current directory appended with
downloads) I would rather like to have /cygdrive/c/downloads ...

I remember seeing that on some sun platform for the root user but don't know
the inner details.

Thanks for the help,

Cheers,
Teggy
