I tried to make it clear that I understand why someone might want this.
However, this is the *cygwin* mailing list which supports the "cygwin*
distribution. The only time we include non-cygwin utilities in this
distribution is to help in situations (like setup.exe or cygcheck.exe)
where including a non-cygwin application is inavoidable.
So, sorry, but your request to include a non-cygwin version of a program
in the cygwin distribution has been vetoed. It's entirely up to the
maintainer if they want to include the facility in the source code to
build without cygwin however.
